In writing short nonfiction such as essays or short-memoir style pieces, crafting an appropriate ending poses challenges. We want to craft an ending that ties all of our threads together, bringing the narrative to a satisfactory close.
In this presentation, we will investigate the qualities of a strong ending and notable techniques prominent writers use. In examining four specific essays, we will uncover helpful craft techniques embedded in the work. Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of a few methods to write endings and how to apply the ideas to their own work.
