“It’s never too late to be what you might have been.”
That quote from George Eliot is the inspiration for this session.
A group of writers in their 40s-60s share their experiences about diving into writing and/or returning to school a little later in life. They’ll share tips and triumphs as well as challenges. They’ll share how a lifetime full of experience and wisdom can enrich writing.
This panel was assembled based on an idea at HippoCamp 2017; writers over the age of 40 expressed interest in learning from others who ventured into a creative life after other personal and professional pursuits. After receiving nearly a dozen proposals on the topic, we decided to instead build a panel featuring a few of them so we can hear from various perspectives!
