Wow. What an incredible weekend of learning and sharing! It was our fourth HippoCamp: A Conference for Creative Nonfiction Writers, and it was a blast! Thank you to our speakers for sharing their knowledge and experiences, to our attendees for their interest and an enthusiasm for both learning and each other, to our volunteer team for their tireless efforts, and to our sponsors for their support.
HippoCamp 2019 is tentatively scheduled for August 23-25, 2019, at the Lancaster Marriott; call for proposals opens Sept. 30.
We hope we’ll see you again in 2019! Until then, we’ve captured some memories from 2018 that we hope will continue to inspire you for months to come.
Here’s to new friendships, new projects, rekindled old ones, and to creative nonfiction!
Throughout September, we’ll add to this recap page as blog posts, photos, and other recaps filter in.
(In no particular order)

Several session presenters who either used slides and/or handouts have made them available for viewing after the conference; we posted links on their corresponding session pages. To make it easier to find which sessions have these materials, though, we’ve listed them here. (click on “+” to expand for full list)

We created a Google photo album, and you can add to it! This also already includes some photos from 2017!
Thanks to everyone who live-tweeted during the conference and checked in after you arrived home! We’ll build a social media recap in the future, but, for now, view all the hashtag action on Twitter.
We’ll list the leftovers for sale at our online store in the next week or so. They’re $12 (shirts) and $8 (mugs) plus shipping & handling. Email us at conference[at]hippocampusmagazine.com if you’d like to be notified when they’re ready for purchase.
